Furniture

10:53 PM
I received my first power tool at age 4 and the rest is history. During high school, I worked in a fine furniture shop called the Art House. Now that I am in college, my furniture making has slowed down due to my lack of time, but I have designed a few pieces. This page is dedicated to showcasing some of the pieces I have created.  Currently, I work at the fabrication shop of my college as a student worker.  I assist students of the College of Architecture in building projects and doing hands on research.  I will soon be moving to a new location that has a detached garage a.k.a. a place for all of my tools.

TAMU BASEBALL TABLES

ATTITUDE APPROACH INTENSITY TOUGHNESS

                                                                   Easton thanked us for this!

The Texas A&M baseball team commissioned my roommate and I to build them new tables for their locker room.  The old tables had been abused for years and were on their last leg.  As we learned more about the team, we came to find out that Easton is one of their sponsors that provides bats.  We also found out that the current coach had taken an A&M icon (Old Sarge) and created a logo that was specific to the baseball team.  These things informed our design of the tables.  We used baseball bats for the legs and made sure to put the EASTON facing outward.  We etched the team logo into the top using a laser cutter.  For the base, it only made sense to use an over sized home plate.  The tables were well received.  We have been asked to make 10 more tables to be placed throughout the new stadium that is being constructed in 2011.

Table for 3 Ladies:

This project was "commisioned" (ordered) by my girlfriend and her two roommates for their new house

Spiral Table and Chandelier

This project was created for studio. It is a spiral table.  There is also a matching chandalere,  table lamp, and fruit bowl.  The full set is made from one sheet of plywood and is assembled using only friction joinery.  There is no glue or nails in this project.  There is glass top and lighting fixtures installed.

Zebrawood Horn Table

This is a table I designed with the help of Dan Pheiffer and built by myself.  It is made of zebrawood, (top) walnut (border) and gemsbok horns (legs).  The horns have silver alloy tips on them.

Two tiers
Another table for my girlfriend.  She painted it white.
