Project for John Fairey at Peckerwood Gardens

12:12 AM

While participating in Big Event, my friends and I came across six old clay pipes in Wolf Pen Creek. We hauled them out of the river and began to come up with a plan. We proposed a project to make a decorative sculpture out of the pipes to John Fairey and he was immediately on board. After a design competition amongst ourselves, the final idea was chosen. During the construction phase, it was discoverd that there was an abundance of river rock on the site where the sculpture was to be made. We ended up using the river rock as a transition from the dirt to the pipes and the effect is quite pleasing. The compleated product will be used as a display for plants that the nursery. We are well pleased with this project as it contains reuse and beauty. Photographs of the pipes with plants in them will come at a later date.
